Dinner Club
Branding Package

Dinner Club's Founder Elissa is passionate about cooking and bringing people together through food and culture. So when she approached me about designing the visuals for an on-campus dinner club, I was stoked about the idea. She asked me to create a wordmark and a banner that she could put up to designate spaces that she reserved for her dinner club.

For typography, Elissa was stuck between wanting a typeface that was playful, and yet warm and inviting and wanting a typeface that was formal, sleek, and streamlined. But something that I learned was that it is so important as a designer and a consumer of design, to always be able to explain the “whys” of why a design identity makes the choices that it does. And when I asked Elissa why she loves dinner parties and why she wanted to create this space on campus, she told me that dinner parties at her apartment and home growing up were “a time for people to come together and talk about their day, it just felt like a warm hug. Like somewhere everyone wanted to be, because it was so warm and inviting.” Knowing this, we went for a more playful and warm typeface (which is titled Bright).
